
Responding to Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s criticism after the state assembly passed a resolution condemning the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said the state assemblies have their own privileges. Slamming the state assembly’s action, Prasad on Tuesday asked the LDF government to seek ‘better legal advice’ on such matters. He had said that only Parliament has got the powers to pass any law with regard to citizenship.
