On Monday, the government decided to exempt entertainment tax for three months and also assured other relaxations, thus paving the way for reopening theatres in state. Though government had decided to reopen theatres from January 5 in compliance with Covid-19 prevention protocol, theatre owners were less inclined to resume screening citing various reasons, mainly exemption of entertainment tax.
