Pappiniserry gram panchayat in Kannur won first prize among gram panchayats at the state level for best performance in plan expenditure and implementation. LSG minister A C Moideen declared the awards here on Saturday. Mulanthuruthi panchayat in Ernakulam and Veeyapuram panchayat in Alappuzha district won second and third prizes at the state level among gram panchayats respectively. The panchayats that won first, second and third prizes would be given special financial assistance of Rs 25 lakhs, Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 15 lakhs respectively.
