Women welcomed the government’s move to open pubs in state saying that Kerala is fast embracing the Metro culture in which pubs act as a social space irrespective of gender. Many said that the decision should have been taken much earlier as women drinking alcohol is not an uncommon thing in Kerala now and pubs are more welcoming compared to bars.
