As rains continued to lash the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert in Idukki, Kasargod, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur till July 25. Heavy rainfall of more than 204mm has been predicted in these five districts in the next four days. The state government has been cautioned to take all precautions in these districts by opening more relief camps and by evacuating the people from high-risk areas.
